The Best Barbeque Jerky Recipe
Many people like to barbeque and many of those people like to make their own barbeque jerky. If you like to barbeque often you may already have the equipment needed to make your own barbeque jerky. First you will need a large slab of plain butchers or other dry cured meat, and then you will need two different pieces of flat cut wooden skewers, about one inch each long. You should also get some quality cutters that you can use to cut the slivers of meat into thin strips. To make sure that the barbeque jerky recipe that you use cooks quickly you will also need a food processor.
When you have all of these items, it is time to start making your own barbeque jerky recipe. You will first want to take your slabs of meat and roll them up tightly so that they are as tight as possible. Then you will slice them crosswise, making sure that each individual slice makes a hole in the middle of the meat. Next you will spread out your barbecue sauce and spoon it on top of each slice, creating a nice coating for the outside of the meat. Place this on the barbeque and let it cook for a couple of hours, turning it once or twice during the cooking process.
If you want to make the jerky as tender as possible, you will want to slow-roast the meat in an aluminum foil. It may take a couple hours to get the barbeque jerky recipe to seal properly, but keep at it until it is done. Once it is brown and cooked, you will tear off a couple pieces and place them in your freezer. Then you will use these extra pieces in your everyday cooking whenever you have something that needs to be cooked in a short period of time. These barbeque jerky recipes can be used over again for a family meal, or they can be given as gifts to friends and family members.
