Franklin Barbecue is another legendary spot that doesn’t mess around when it comes to brisket. It’s a must-visit for those who have a love for the most tender, melt-in-your-mouth slabs of meat in all of Texas. To try it, you’ll have to plan ahead and wait in a long line.
But if you don’t feel like waiting in a long line, there are other amazing places to get your meat on in Austin. LeRoy and Lewis is a fun newer-school BBQ food truck that opened in 2017. Their menu offers plenty of fun items that push the boundaries of traditional Texas BBQ, including their Citra Hop pork sausage, which is actually made from brewed Citra hops!
