Instant Pot BBQ Chicken is a quick and easy meal that’s packed with tangy barbecue flavor. It’s a great choice for sandwiches, salads, and even nachos. This family-friendly recipe is also Whole30-compliant.
Instant Pot BBQ chicken is made with three simple ingredients: chicken, barbecue sauce, and spices. The chicken comes out juicy and tender, and the sauce is smothered in the tangy, delicious bbq flavor. You can easily make this dish with boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts.
First, you’ll want to cut the chicken into small pieces. If you’re making a large batch, you can freeze the meat in an airtight container for up to four days.
Next, you’ll add a bit of liquid to the bottom of the Instant Pot. Adding this liquid will prevent the other ingredients from sticking. Depending on the size of the chicken, you may need to adjust the cooking time.
Once the chicken has finished cooking, it’s time to pull it out. If you’re using a natural pressure release, you’ll need to wait eight minutes. Alternatively, you can use a quick release to get the remaining pressure out.
Next, you’ll want to place the chicken in the Instant Pot in order. Depending on the size of your chicken breasts, you may need to adjust the cooking time.
After the chicken has been cooked, remove it from the pot and transfer it to a clean bowl. You can shred the chicken in the Instant Pot, or you can use two forks to mix the chicken and the sauce together.
