3 Fun and Unique Grill Recipes to Try For Your Next Barbecue Night

While most guests would get excited over the classic burgers, hotdogs and steaks, they would surely be more excited to try something new off the grill. Trying new barbecue dishes not only adds variety to the food you serve, but also helps you improve your grilling skills:

Here are some unique grill recipes to try the next time you host a barbecue night:

1. Mac N’ Cheese BBQ Pizza

What you need:

  • 3 small boneless and skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 10-inch pizza crust
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked instant mac n’ cheese
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese (any variety)

Grill one side of the pizza crust over medium heat until lightly brown on the edges. Set aside. Grill chicken breasts over medium high heat for 4-5 minutes per side until cooked through. Set aside and allow to cool. In a medium bowl, combine barbecue sauce and tomato sauce. When cooled, shred chicken breasts and add it to the bowl of barbecue and tomato sauce. Arrange cooked mac n’ cheese onto grilled side of pizza crust then add a layer of shredded barbecue chicken. Top with shredded cheese. Grill over medium heat until toppings are heated through and cheese has melted.

2. Barbecue Style Spaghetti

What you need:

For the sauce

  • 3 cups cooked spaghetti
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 3/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 2 tbsps. liquid smoke
  • 1 pinch salt

For the pork barbecue

  • 1 whole pork shoulder
  • 2 cups barbecue marinade
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1/2 cup paprika
  • 2 tbsps. seasoned salt
  • 2 tbsps. celery salt
  • 2 tbsps. black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cayenne

In a large bowl, mix together barbecue marinade, brown sugar, salt, paprika, seasoned salt, celery salt, black pepper and cayenne. Rub the pork shoulder with the mixture evenly. Grill the pork shoulder over medium heat until cooked through. Allow to rest for at least 15 minutes. When ready, chop or shred pork shoulder then set aside. To make the sauce, combine the barbecue sauce, chopped onion, chopped green bell pepper, cooking oil, liquid smoke and salt in a large skillet and cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour sauce over cooked spaghetti and top with chopped or shredded pork barbecue.

3. Grilled Chocolate Wraps

What you need:

  • 4 flour tortillas
  • 4 bars chocolate of your choice
  • 8 tsps. marshmallow fluff
  • 4 tsps. unsalted butter
  • 4 pinches sugar

Spread each flour tortilla with 2 tsps. of marshmallow fluff. Place a chocolate bar at the center of each tortilla and seal. Brush the outside of each tortilla with the butter and lightly sprinkle with sugar. Wrap the tortillas individually with heavy duty aluminum foil. Grill the wraps over medium heat for 3-5 minutes per side until chocolate is melted. Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before unwrapping and serving.
